I’ve come to really enjoy this system because it moves fast and actually feels less chaotic than assigned seating.

Although LAS is renowned for its flashy casino atmosphere, Southwest’s gates in Terminal 1 provide a more laid-back atmosphere. Free Wi-Fi, charging outlets, lots of seating, and a respectable selection of food options are all close by. You’ll find what you’re craving, whether it’s coffee, a burger, or something to go. To make waiting for a flight a little more enjoyable, there is even a Shake Shack near the C Gates.

Reliable, On-Time Flights

Let’s be real—nobody likes delays. Thankfully, my experience flying Southwest out of LAS has been consistently reliable. Flights depart on time, gate changes are rare, and announcements are made clearly and early if anything shifts. When weather has caused delays, Southwest staff are proactive in helping passengers rebook or adjust plans.
