P.I. Meena trailer shows Tanya Maniktala leading the investigation of a murder in Kolkata. The upcoming Prime Video, directed by Debaloy Bhattacharya, also stars Vinay Pathak, Zarina Wahab, Jishu Sengupta and Parambrata Chattopadhyay.
The Plot
The trailer starts with Meenakshi Iyer, also known as P. I, Meena. She is a young private investigator who has accidentally got involved in a new case. As per reports, the victim died in a road accident and P. I. Meena was present there. The victim’s mother tells her that some people wanted her son dead and she knows them.
As she starts digging out, she gets to know that the death is linked to a virus attack. The scene leads to a bizarre case of people succumbing to a mysterious fever. People start talking about a possible biological attack. In such a situation, the government has a higher responsibility to find out the culprit behind the murder as soon as possible. Jishu Sengupta makes an appearance as Dr Andrew Rakhaw in the trailer.
The eight-episode series will be aired on Amazon Prime Video from November 3.

While talking about her role as a private detective, Tanya Maniktala says that she feels blessed to have been chosen for the character in such an interesting series loaded with layers of suspense at various levels. “While it has been challenging, the role of Meenakshi Iyer has truly been enriching for me as an actor, undergoing countless hours of preparation to be able to do justice to not only the character but also the riveting story”, she adds.
Tanya confesses that P.I. Meena is a very different character from what she had played in the past. The actress praises Meena’s determination to find out the truth and fight for it. “The emotional overdrive and the nuances of her persona are what convinced me to not miss on the opportunity to play her.”
