Strategic Growth and Acquisitions

In a significant move to expand its global footprint, Meridian Bioscience entered into an agreement in July 2022 to be acquired by SD Biosensor and SJL Partners for $1.53 billion. This acquisition, completed in January 2023, has enabled Meridian to operate as an independent entity under new ownership, further enhancing its capabilities and reach in the diagnostics industry. 

Advancements in H. pylori Testing

Demonstrating its dedication to continuous improvement, Meridian received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in July 2023 for the Premier® HpSA® FLEX™. This non-invasive enzyme immunoassay detects Helicobacter pylori antigens in human fecal specimens, offering clinicians the flexibility to use both preserved and unpreserved samples. H. pylori infection, present in approximately one-third of the global population, is associated with conditions such as chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer disease, and gastric cancer. Meridian’s innovative testing solutions facilitate early detection and treatment, underscoring their commitment to enhancing patient care.
