Hi there! Traveling from the Frontier Airlines PHX Terminal with my family was really a breeze. We departed from Terminal 3, which was modern, clean, and incredibly easy to get around — a big relief when you’ve got kids and carry-ons to manage! Check-in was speedy, and the Frontier personnel were extremely nice, assisting us in coordinating seating so that we could all be together. Security moved fast, and there were plenty of food options to keep everyone happy before boarding. Overall, it was a relaxed, comfortable experience, and we’ll definitely feel confident flying Frontier from Phoenix again!
Check-In and Baggage Drop: Quick and Easy
We had already checked in online with Frontier’s mobile app (which was fantastic), so all we had to do was drop off our checked bags. There were a lot of kiosks over by the Frontier counters, and they were simple to operate. Even if you’re not particularly tech-friendly, it’s fairly easy to navigate. That being said, Frontier’s bag policies are super specific, and they closely check bag sizes. We did notice a people getting stopped for attempting to carry on large bags without paying. We had prepaid for one bag that we checked and ensured our personal belongings stowed under the seat, so we didn’t have a problem. A little tip here — check your bag sizes and restrictions prior to arrival so you don’t get a surprise fee or headache. The Frontier employees working the counter were actually very friendly. One of the agents even assisted us in resolving a minor problem with our seat reservations, and she did so with a smile. Such kindness makes a big difference when traveling with family.
Security: Efficient and Family-Friendly
Clearing security at Terminal 3 was likely the easiest we’ve had in some time. TSA employees were friendly and got the job done, and there were clear instructions leading us to the proper lines. There’s even a family lane, a major lifesaver. We had our stroller, two tablets, snacks, and all the rest of the usual kid stuff, but we weren’t in any hurry or frazzled.
Inside Terminal 3: Bright, Modern, and Surprisingly Comfortable
Once we were past security, we stepped into a terminal that honestly felt more like a calm shopping mall than an airport. Terminal 3 has been recently renovated, and you can tell. It’s filled with natural light, has wide walking spaces, and plenty of clean seating. There are multiple gate areas for different airlines, but Frontier’s section was easy to find. And even better, there were plenty of USB and plug outlets for charging all our devices. We found a spot near the windows, settled in with a great view of the planes, and got comfy.
Cleanliness and Amenities: Two Thumbs Up
This is always a big one for me — I get super stressed if the airport restrooms are grimy or there’s nowhere clean to sit. Thankfully, Terminal 3 was spotless. The restrooms were well-stocked and had changing tables, and there were family restrooms too, which made diaper changes and group bathroom trips a lot less chaotic. There were also plenty of hand sanitizer stations around, something we still appreciate even now. The floors were clean, the seating areas felt tidy, and the garbage bins weren’t overflowing — always a good sign.
Boarding: Smooth Process and On-Time
Frontier’s boarding process was efficient and clearly communicated. They boarded by groups, and families with small children were invited to board early, which we always appreciate. The gate agents were polite and professional, and even though the line looked long, we were on the plane in no time. Frontier flights are no-frills, but our expectations were set accordingly. We brought our own snacks and entertainment for the kids, and once we were in our seats, we were ready for takeoff — and yes, we left on time!
Final Thoughts: Frontier + Terminal 3 = Surprisingly Pleasant
So, what did we say? Departing from Frontier Airlines Terminal Phoenix was, in one word, effortless. We enjoyed a hassle-free check-in, speedy security, a pleasant terminal to wait in, and an efficient boarding process. For a low-cost carrier, Frontier held up its end of the bargain, and Phoenix’s Terminal 3 improved the entire experience. For a cost-conscious family vacation, it’s difficult to demand more. We wouldn’t hesitate to fly Frontier again through— and that’s saying something coming from a parent!
