Triumph Scrambler 400X Arrives in Market – Know Its Features, Price and Other Details

Bajaj Auto started manufacturing the low-range line up of the British Brand with Speed 400. Scrambler 400 X is the second launch in budget TR series from Bajaj’s den. The price will start from Rs 2.63 lakh (approx), implying that intending buyers will have to shell out Rs 30, 000 more than Speed 400, its roadside counterpart.

Business Collaboration

Triumph Scrambler 400X and Bajaj Auto got into a strategic partnership. As a result of this business collaboration, two motorcycles in the affordable range have been launched.

Engine

Both Scrambler 400X and Speed 400 feature the signature TR Series 398cc single-cylinder engine capable of generating 37.5 Nm of peak torque and 40 PS of peak power.

Let us introduce you to this modern powertrain. It features a DOHC setup, a liquid cooling mechanism, a slipper clutch, a 4V head, a 6-speed gearbox and many more. Triumph has maximized the powertrain potentials for a lot of features including low-speed ride-ability and smooth power delivery. The latest launch differs from its predecessor i.e Speed 400 in componentry and hardware. For starters, the new arrival comes with off-road-worthy componentry.

Hardware and Componentry

The componentry includes a long-travel suspension system (150 mm travel at both ends) comprising gold-finished USB telescopic front forks, easy-to-adjust handlebars, rear mono-shock, 17-inch rear wheel wrapped with 140/70-17 rubber and 19-inch front wheel wrapped with 100/90-19 rubber. Block pattern dual-purpose tyres are present on both ends.

Both ends get a single-disc brake setup, paired with dual-channel ABS. Other remarkable components include upgraded flat foot pegs, easy-to-remove rubber for a comfortable grip, 195 mm ground clearance, 835 mm seat height and many more. Triumph provides some protection for both the two-wheeler and the rider by including features like headlight grill protection, knuckle guards, handlebar brace, radiator guard and engine sump protection.

Triumph offers an easy-to-switch traction control mechanism and switchable ABS to facilitate dirt riding. It will also render trail session full of fun, allowing for a thrill ride through beaten paths. The slightly up-swept exhaust in Triumph Scrambler 400X is supposed to ensure sound water-wading capability.

A long front mudguard is purposefully designed to create an impact. Triumph Scrambler 400X, unlike Speed 400, features a longer wheelbase coupled with a commanding seating position and higher ground clearance. Overall, the motorcycle has a decent weight of 179 kg, with the kit-on-offer taken into consideration. The model is purposefully designed in keeping with the features loaded in bigger models in the Scrambler lineup, which include both Scrambler 1200 and Scrambler 900.

The sculpted fuel tank is a Triumph-specific signature. The profile and timeless aura of the engine tell about Triumph’s adherence to sophistication.
