The State Government of Bihar has started a new scheme for the tea farmers. The name of the scheme is Tea Development Scheme. Under the Tea Development Scheme, the Bihar Government will pay 25% of the remaining amount payable per hectare to the beneficiary farmers as the second instalment in the financial year 2024-25, provided 90% of the tea plants planted in the last year survive. Tea Development Scheme 2023-24: Which Horticulture Equipment Will Be Given Subsidy?
Under the Tea Development Scheme, the following horticulture equipment will be made available at subsidised rate to the tea farmers of the state for the management of their tea gardens and expanding the area for tea cultivation. Pruning Machines: Pruning machines will be made available at a subsidised rate to the interested farmers who are cultivating tea in a minimum of 5 acres (2 hectares) of land. A maximum amount of Rs 60, 000 or 50% of the actual price – whichever is less – will be given as grants by the government.
Mechanical Harvesters: Mechanical harvesters will be made available at a subsidised rate to the interested farmers, who are cultivating tea in a minimum of 5 acres 2 (hectares) of land. A maximum amount of Rs 50, 000 or 50% of the actual value of the mechanical investors, whichever is less, will be granted as a subsidy to the farmers.
Plucking Shears: Plucking shear machines will be made available at a subsidised rate to those farmers who are cultivating in a minimum of 5 acres (2 hectares) of land. A maximum amount of Rs 11, 000 or 50% of the actual price of the machine, whichever is less, will be provided as a grant to the farmers.
Leaf Carriage Vehicles: These machines will be made available at a subsidised rate to those farmers cultivating tea in minimum 10 acres (4 hectares) of land. A maximum amount of Rs 7, 50, 000 or 50% of the actual value of the leaf carriage, whichever is less, will be paid as grants to the farmers.
Leaf Collection Sheds: These machines will be made available at a subsidised rate to the farmers cultivating tea in minimum 5 acres (2 hectares) of land. A maximum amount of Rs 37, 500 or 50% of the actual value of the leaf collection shed, whichever is lower, will be provided as grants to the farmers.
