Let’s Talk about Ella
Jonathan Majors has a daughter. Her name was Ella. According to reports, she lives with her mother in Atlanta. Though the actor has never talked about Ella’s mother, people have managed to collect some information about her daughter.
The actor attended Yale School of Drama. In 2016, he graduated with an MFA in acting. Ella was born before he went to attend his acting course. So, we can safely presume that she was born in 2013.
It was January, 2024 when the actor gave his first interview after Jonathan Major’s guilty verdict. He was clearly teary-eyed. “I haven’t seen my daughter in a long time, and a lot of it has to do with this situation,” he told Good Morning America’s Linsey Davis.
Jonathan Majors Talks Effusively about His Daughter
In 2020, Jonathan gave an interview to People magazine. He claimed to have prioritised Ella’s education. “I have a 7-year-old who’s mixed race. She has to understand that it’s actually not ‘Black history’ — it’s American history. The way it’s taught now, it’s honestly the Jim Crow system of separate but equal. We’ll give it one month, 12 pages in the history book … we’ll talk about Harriet Tubman, Rosa Park, MLK, then we’ll give you a little quiz about it. And that’s it”, he said.
According to a 2020 interview with W magazine, Ella’s mother gave a call to Jonathan during a turbulent time after George Floyd’s brutal murder. She told Jonathan that Ella had been depressed “because her hair won’t fall down — her hair goes up.”
Jonathan decided to comfort her daughter. He talked to Ella, “You have a crown. That’s why your hair goes up. Your hair, your crown, came from daddy, came from his mama, came from his father, came from his sister. Sometimes that crown can get you in trouble in this world, and it’s not right. And some people want to take that crown from you.
We don’t know if Ella could get rid of her fear and frustration but it shows that Jonathan is concerned about her daughter.
Jonathan also spoke about Ella in February 2023 during his interview with Today, wherein he opened about Ella’s objection to his co-worker on Anti-Man 3.
“I’ve never seen my daughter starstruck … She’s like, ‘Nice to see you, too’ to Paul Rudd and I lost my mind. I was like ‘What did you say? Oh my god,'” Jonathan recalled.
