The TV adaptation of ‘First Wives Club’ has become very popular, with a large pool of loyal following since the show’s first premier in 2019. The third season of the series is streaming on BET. Meanwhile, episode 2 of ‘First Wives Club’ Season 3 TV show has introduced a shocking twist leading to dividing hard-core fans of the show.

The shocking development revolves around Ari’s character. What has happened? Fans are curious to know. In this blog post, we will reveal all these things.

First Wives Club: What Happened to Ari?

The character Ari of ‘First Wives Club’ Cast TV, played by Ryan Michelle Bathe, passed away due to a surprising and sudden brain aneurysm in the Episode 2 of Season 3. The revelation shocked many viewers because Ari was one of the key members of the show.

She died only moments before Hazel’s wedding and hence, missed the opportunity to see her buddy one last time.

Why Did Ari Leave the First Wives Club?

Ryan was a familiar face in the first two seasons. However, Ari shifted to the West Coast during the 2nd season of the show. She made her appearances in fewer episodes with the show’s progress. Tracy Oliver and Darren Star, the creators of the show ‘First Wives Club’, planned her untimely death. The creators decided to take the show forward with some interesting twists.

Jill Scott did not like the decision.

Jill Scot played the character of Hazel on the show. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the actor admitted that she was not thrilled about the decision of an untimely end to the character of Ari. She said that she loved getting a chance to add a new layer to her character by showing how she would behave in a situation of intense grief.

Hazel decided to break off her engagement with Nigel elsewhere in the episode after realising that she would do the right thing by ending the relationship.

Nigel was younger than Hazel. He wanted to have kids. Hazel was not as desirous as Nigel. Ultimately, she decided to let him go so that she can find a suitable match later in her life.

Jill was upset but not surprised that Hazel had called off her relationship with him.

“I wasn’t surprised. I would’ve been more surprised had they actually gone through with it,” Jill said. She added that as a fan, she couldn’t see the relationship working. “I just always felt like Nigel was just a little too young. But some women like that. Some women my age really like the young John — I’m not one of ’em.”

It seems that there are plenty of twists and turns in store for ‘First Wives Club’ viewers over the rest of the show’s 3rd season. Fans are ready for a roller coaster ride, given that the early episodes have been extremely intense emotionally.
