Design and Features

The Himalayan 450 looks similar to the current Himalayan 411, but with some subtle changes and enhancements. The bike retains its signature features such as the round headlamp with LED DRLs, the windscreen, the beak-like front fender, the external frame, the large fuel tank, the wide handlebar, the split seat, and the tail rack. However, there are some new elements such as the up-side down forks in the front, the monoshock at the rear, the dual exhaust pipes, and the alloy wheels.

The bike also gets some cosmetic updates such as new graphics on the fuel tank and side panels, new colour options, and a blacked-out theme for the engine, frame, wheels, and suspension. The bike looks more modern and premium than the current model, and will appeal to a wider range of customers.

Engine and Performance

The biggest highlight of the Himalayan 450 is its new engine,

which will be the first liquid-cooled engine from Royal Enfield. The engine will have a displacement of 450 cc and will produce around 40 bhp of power and 40 Nm of torque. This will be a significant improvement over the current air-cooled engine that has a displacement of 411 cc and produces 24.3 bhp of power and 32 Nm of torque.

The new engine will also be more refined and responsive than the current engine, which has been criticized for its vibrations and sluggishness. The new engine will be mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch that will reduce wheel hop during aggressive downshifts. The bike will also have a ride-by-wire throttle system that will offer smoother acceleration and better fuel efficiency.
